It is like a movie, with endless cut-scenes that change the direction and tone of the story. But unlike a movie, you are the one in control of your own life. You are the one who makes the decisions that will shape the direction of your life. If you find yourself in a dark place, feeling lost or empty, it is important to remember that you have a choice in how you live your life. You can choose to see the beauty in the world, to find the motivation to continue living, and to make the most of every situation. God, if you believe in one, is like the developer of this game called life. It is up to you to decide what kind of cut-scene you will make. Will you use your life to make something meaningful and beautiful, or will you waste it by wallowing in self-pity and misery? Now think how much life can be merciful at this very point. Being able to make choices and decisions unlike video games where you are limited to the developer’s dialogue options as one of characters. The choice is yours. Life can be merciful if you choose to live it with intention and purpose. But if you choose to ignore the beauty and potential that life has to offer, then you can expect life to be merciless.
